About us

Who we are

Since 2021 FoodBanked have held monthly food banks and worked with different charities and suppliers and distributed essential food to people in need.

Working with charities such as Barkingside Community Trust (BCT), Redbridge Islamic Centre (RIC), ICSS and Barking Churches Unite (BCU), FoodBanked have distributed to local residents in Redbridge and Newham.

As well as distributing to households FoodBanked also deliver to Ryedale Care Centre based in Ilford which accomodates 18 homeless people

FoodBanked's volunteers help with it's first food bank delivery in November 2021

Our mission

FoodBanked's ultimate goal is to ensure essential food and household products are offered to people in need (PIN). With regular food banks a lot is wasted because PIN's are unable to attend the food banks being held and charities end up wasting excess food that expires

"FoodBanked = food is saved and NOT wasted, gets to the right people at the right time."

Our story

During the pandemic people in need (PIN) were unable to attend food banks, which meant people who were struggling with the cost of living were sleeping hungry. Ash, who worked as a volunteer for a local charity realised that there was a need to deliver essential food to PIN's and came up with the idea to setup the charity FoodBanked

Testimonials

"I really appreciate FoodBanked, I received food, drinks, snacks and items for my kids too. Thank you so much"

Mayowa from Aldborough Road South, Ilford

"The help from the whole year has been amazing and without the help with the items we need for food and clothes I don’t know how we could have coped. I am looking after my father who is 92 years old and also after my grandchildren and I am not well myself. Without the friendly volunteer Ash that has really helped us so much including his children and his friends. As I have been so ill sometimes I really can’t cope without this support regularly. It’s been so good to have. We are very thankful to you all for your donations too without which we would not be helped"

Louise from Roll Gardens, Gants Hill

''FoodBanked have been donating once per month to our supported accommodation for homeless adults with complex needs for a couple of months now. The staff and clients here are very thankful for these donations as we don't receive that many donations from members of the public anymore. The clients always collect a few food items from the donation from FoodBanked and are extremely grateful as they often run out of money to be able to buy food from the supermarket. We rely on donations such as yours and other charities in the community that provide food to those who are either homeless or on a low income.

Thanks so much for your ongoing support by donating once per month to Ryedale, it is much appreciated" 🙂

Lauren Grandini-Fenn, Deputy Manager at Ryedale Care Centre, Ilford
