Since 2021 FoodBanked have held monthly food banks and worked with different charities and suppliers and distributed essential food to people in need.
Working with charities such as Barkingside Community Trust (BCT), Redbridge Islamic Centre (RIC), ICSS and Barking Churches Unite (BCU), FoodBanked have distributed to local residents in Redbridge and Newham.
As well as distributing to households FoodBanked also deliver to Ryedale Care Centre based in Ilford which accomodates 18 homeless people
FoodBanked's volunteers help with it's first food bank delivery in November 2021
FoodBanked's ultimate goal is to ensure essential food and household products are offered to people in need (PIN). With regular food banks a lot is wasted because PIN's are unable to attend the food banks being held and charities end up wasting excess food that expires
"FoodBanked = food is saved and NOT wasted, gets to the right people at the right time."
During the pandemic people in need (PIN) were unable to attend food banks, which meant people who were struggling with the cost of living were sleeping hungry. Ash, who worked as a volunteer for a local charity realised that there was a need to deliver essential food to PIN's and came up with the idea to setup the charity FoodBanked
